I was browsing Kickstarter the other day after watching a video on the Japanese maker movement, reading some of my backed projects’ updates, and flipping through Penpal, a Kickstarter-funded horror novel I discovered and backed a while back, when I realized that I have never written anything about Kickstarter itself.
Here comes installment two! In my previous post about Imaginary Authors, I decided that for these fragrances I would do something different and write some short stories based on what comes up when I smell them. These stories are based on a vigilante concept that Mr. Chokkattu and I discuss whenever someone who’s a waste of space shows up on the news, and the style hopefully smacks of Brandon Sanderson as well as a tiny hint of Haruki Murakami perhaps. Hope you enjoy!

Bit of a different format for the reviews today. Since Imaginary Authors is all about stories and evocation, I decided to write a very short story in response to some of their products. I haven’t written nearly any very creative things since I started business school because the place kind of drains me of mental energy, so I’m really glad I was able to get this much out. These stories are based on a vigilante concept that Mr. Chokkattu and I discuss whenever someone who’s a waste of space shows up on the news, and the style is a tiny bit inspired Brandon Sanderson novels (though he does it much, much better.) Hope you enjoy!

Everything Before Us by Wong Fu Productions is coming out tomorrow and even through my body’s current trials and tribulations I am SO excited!
You can pre-order it, but since it comes out tomorrow I’m personally just going to wait. It’s Vimeo, not a theater, so it’s not as if the theater near me is going to fill up or sell out. Watch the trailer below if you haven’t already seen it!
In case you still don’t really get it, or just like it in writing, the description from the video reads:
I hope you all enjoy drinking and partying it up! I, on the other hand, am still sick so unfortunately won’t be participating in anything for the next few days.
I’ll just leave this here for you:
…hopefully you’re more amused than offended.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and did something as relaxing as a nature hike with your family…
…risky as eating raw oysters at a Chinese buffet…
And I hope you spent time with friends…
And ate some bangin’ food :3
Bee and PuppyCat premieres on November 6th! I’m so excited. The Kickstarter obviously went through and the team has been working on it for months. I love Natasha Allegri’s writing style and her brain children are some of the most interesting and entertaining of this comic style.
Plus, the art is just so lovely and fantastical.
The whole Cartoon Hangover team and all of their guests are ridiculously talented and hilarious, and they’ve gotten me excited and laughing at cartoons in a way I haven’t for years now, in a package I can actually consume (go Youtube, no television for me.)
I hereby subtitle this: “An opus of my life, part 1.”
My older cousin who has two little boys told me she didn’t want girls because there were just so many more frightening variables with girls. I know this is true enough. This isn’t meant, I’m sure, to marginalize a teenager’s, or even an adolescent’s desire…
