I had my first experience with 360 video (and virtual reality) at Internet Week with VRSE, a virtual reality production company. Within a few minutes, I was transported to the middle of a fantasy lake, Union Square, an artist’s workshop, and a Sudanese refugee camp. It was brilliant.

Mr. Chokkattu, Bloo (my stuffed representation of the real dog Boo), and I had quite an eventful last Thursday.
We attended Thursday’s Daybreaker at Cielo on Little West 12th for a morning pick-me-up because apparently that’s good for you.
Dinner for Mr. Chokkattu’s family and my first attempt at a foodwishes recipe!
The chicken was alright because we had to replace some ingredients, but the potatoes and the sauce were great!

Bloo, my stuffed representation of the internet sensation Boo started smoking under the supervision of my boyfriend. I am so disappointed.
I decided it would be a lovely idea to leave Bloo with Mr. Chokkattu for a fun day at his office and workplace, to be returned to me the next time he sees me this week: Tuesday, if nothing goes wrong. The morning went fairly well:

You can pre-order it, but since it comes out tomorrow I’m personally just going to wait. It’s Vimeo, not a theater, so it’s not as if the theater near me is going to fill up or sell out. Watch the trailer below if you haven’t already seen it!

Warby Parker is a NYC-based eyewear brand focused on design and, like some very notable brands (Stella & Dot, Greycork, Casper) aims to cut out the middle man and to provide affordable eyewear that’s convenient to try out, via their home try-on. All of their frames are made with either metal or cellulose acetate, a natural plastic made from purified cellulose (trees, essentially) and all of the designs are created in-house.
The trials of the high-strung person are so vividly captured in another one of Lev Yilmaz’s super-relatable Tales of Mere Existence.
It’s worse if you were raised to keep it quiet. Then when you can’t, and because you’ve been taught to keep it quiet you also have no idea how to express it all in a way that makes sense to anyone, your friends and family have no idea why you’re suddenly freaking out and all fronts of being a calm, cool, collected person go out the door.
Coping mechanisms?
Thankfully, progress has been made in the form of Taiwan granting workplace protection for LGBTs, and Taiwan in general has been leagues above other Asian countries in terms of LGBT rights. For most of Asia, homosexuality is still an underground movement, and perhaps shares a rather continent-wide “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” culture.
Taiwan is currently considering a marriage legalization bill, but it’s getting attacked from the Christian segments of the country, which is probably why the production company felt this video was necessary.
As the song goes: “各有各一生一世 各有各的溫柔鄉 / 神不神聖 愛這種信仰 誰說了算” (Everyone has their own life to live. And they all have someone to love. / Gods, religions and such, “love”, this kind of belief, who has the right to make rules on it.)
Sylvie Jourdet, professor of olfaction and perfumery accords at the ISIPCA in Versailles, vice president of the French Society of Perfumers, crafter of most of the HdP juices, just made me groan out loud on the train because I am not her and not likely to ever be her. She makes me hate my life a little.

internet week starts for me tomorrow and there’s a distinct possibility that i might be at the tomorrowland premiere in new york tomorrow night though.
