Happy New Years + Quebec City Day 1

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your celebrations went well.

We decided to go visit Edgewater and see if we could get a glimpse of the NYC fireworks this year, as well as get shabu-shabu. The display wasn’t as big as we had hoped, but the food was good and we were in good company.

We then drove off to Canada, final destination Quebec City! We stopped by in Montreal for breakfast. Shout-out to the two random guys in a car that offered me weed. I appreciate the sentiment, hope you had a great New Year’s. I did not accept, by the way. We stopped into Second Cup before heading off again.

300th Post: Can’t be bothered

Things that starved me of life today:

  1. Driving to Princeton.
  2. Forgetting the fragrance I was going to wear.
  3. Driving to Trenton.
  4. Going to the DMV.
  5. Driving from Trenton to Edison.
  6. All of the edible spots in Edison being on the other side of the road.
  7. Driving around Edison during rush hour.
  8. Driving around Edison and having to convince every cop blocking a road that you belong on that road because you’re working the event they’re blocking.
  9. Driving home from Edison when there’s construction going on and the local roads are dark as hell.
  10. Being really hungry but knowing that 11:40PM is not a good time to be eating anything.

Fortunately, Mr. Chokkattu bought me naeng myeon and Chow Chow puppies exist and I love them. Life restored.

Warby Parker Home Try-On

Warby Parker is a NYC-based eyewear brand focused on design and, like some very notable brands (Stella & Dot, Greycork, Casper) aims to cut out the middle man and to provide affordable eyewear that’s convenient to try out, via their home try-on. All of their frames are made with either metal or cellulose acetate, a natural plastic made from purified cellulose (trees, essentially) and all of the designs are created in-house.

Miami, Florida

We drove down to Miami, Florida for Spring Break. It’s gorgeous and warm and the AirBnB house we’re staying in is calm and lovely.

We got there a little after 8, unfortunately, because we got caught in traffic because of several accidents on the way down. Like I’m talking an overturned truck, a destroyed yacht, and a collision type of accidents. And because of that, we sat in Florida rush hour as well.

I’ll try to update this as much as possible, but don’t bank on it. I didn’t bring a lot of fragrances with me, and I doubt I’m going to get much reading done. I do have a bit of work to do, but otherwise, I’m determined to keep this trip worry free 🙂

Driving in the rain at night

I love lightning on the road. It’s as if someone took a hot knife and carved a line through the sky and the highway glows periwinkle and the lights surrounding flash just a little brighter for a second. Thunder just adds to whatever music I’m playing at the time.

Actual rain on the other hand tends to be kind of a drag. Silly northwest New Jersey and their random night squalls. Trying to kill me and shit.

Down the Way by lakteed

I took this picture a few years ago in Germany. It’s on my Deviant Art account, lol.

I much prefer listening to the rain in the comfort of my own home. And also through Rainy Mood.
