Coffee

I decided it was time to make an Instagram page dedicated to the amount of coffee I drink. I’m pretty excited about it actually. It’s pretty basic, but the plan is to do daily captioned pictures in the style of All My Friends Are Dead (the book, not the song), mixed with a little Jomny Sun.

I’m going to try for funny, cute, and amusing, but I can’t promise consistency on that so I won’t.

Anyway, go follow it maybe: https://www.instagram.com/allthecoffeeinmyradius/

i’m not addicted okay.

Poetry

I was looking for a quote from Pablo Neruda when I came across a few other poems I wanted to share. The first one is also a  translated Spanish poem by Fernando Pessoa. I’m going to reserve judgment until I read more of his corpus, and then attempt to read and understand it in Spanish, but I’m kind of into this one, if only because it surrounds fragrance and humanity.

I know many people, myself included, who gladly wear the badge of “unnatural and strange” who also adore perfume. I may drop this into the purview of a few people in the fragrance community.  Read More

Highlights of Yesterday’s Debate

If you didn’t watch last night’s debate, you can still watch it on YouTube here. You did miss out on the experience though because Twitter and Snap(Chat) were alight, intense, and hilarious, but it’s okay everyone gets to misstep once in a while.

Some serious notes: I thought the moderator was supposed to fact check during the night; a thing that didn’t really seem to be happening, which was disappointing and irritating. The moderator also did nothing to curb the interruptions, of which there were tons. Some of the answers were actually great from both sides, but while Hillary just fell flat on a platitude or two, I had no idea what Trump was trying to say sometimes. Read More

Updates!

This is Milo, aka star of @frenchiebutt on Instagram. I love him.

Why does WordPress keep changing its writing format. It’s like it’s in college trying out its sexuality. Or in high school trying out different outward identities.

Anyway, I haven’t posted in a while, and this is just to keep my blog from looking too empty. Otherwise I’ve been busy with school (I’m slotted to graduate in January if I pass this semester!) and work/not-working and pining for puppies and just everything.

Posts I have in mind that will hopefully come soon:

  • Articles about cool things if I can get them out in a timely fashion
  • A comparison on purported leather frags; some of which are lies I tell ya.
  • A comparison on cold weather gourmands, possibly.
  • The post on the preservation of New York City’s Chinatown that I still haven’t gotten to.
  • Maybe a mini-bio or two of people I like reading about, like Danny Meyers, Elizabeth Holmes

Alright, I have an exam in less than 4 hours, I should go.

Iceland Day 1: Reykjavik

Iceland is so far beautiful, and glorious, and confusing at times. Reykjavik is lovely and eccentric and proud of its uniqueness, as it should be. Perhaps the business transactions we made today didn’t go down quite smooth (why exactly do we have to retrieve our wireless hotspot from above a post box underneath some stairs near a furniture store, and why do people think this is totally normal?!) but the people were welcoming, kind, and generous, and that’s all Mr. Chokkattu and I could ask.

Today, I saw all of these things!

Shenanigans

The boys have been getting into more and more hi-jinks since I last posted about them. Bloo tried to make copies of himself. (With the aid of Mr. Chokkattu of course.)

Fortunately, Bloo, being a stuffed representation of a dog, doesn’t copy well so there is not evidence beyond these pictures of this particular incident.

Bad influences

Bloo, my stuffed representation of the internet sensation Boo started smoking under the supervision of my boyfriend. I am so disappointed.

I decided it would be a lovely idea to leave Bloo with Mr. Chokkattu for a fun day at his office and workplace, to be returned to me the next time he sees me this week: Tuesday, if nothing goes wrong. The morning went fairly well:

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I hope you all enjoy drinking and partying it up! I, on the other hand, am still sick so unfortunately won’t be participating in anything for the next few days.

I’ll just leave this here for you:

…hopefully you’re more amused than offended.
